I love teaching because I love to see the progression from the beginning of the year till the end. One of my fondest memories is when I received an email from a student I had during my second year of teaching, which was about 24 years ago. She sent me an email from college and said that her professor said that as a teacher you could not be friends with your students. That it was unethical. Her argument to him was that when she was in fifth grade she remembered the girls being very mean to her and put gum in her hair. She came in very distraught and remembers me sitting and getting every piece out of her hair. I then invited her to have lunch with me for the next week or so to avoid getting bullied by the other girls. She stated it was the reason she became a teacher due to the compassion and understanding I had for her as my student. It was the best gift I could have ever received. Xoxo

Even tho everyday is very different going into work. My favorite thing about working with children is how happy they are to see you. Preschool age children will always be happy even when you as a teacher is going through something. The fact that 20 little faces are excited to see you makes it worth wild even though it can get crazy. Teachers and teacher assistants happy teacher week!

I teach anatomy and physiology to college students and I absolutely love it. I’m 24 years old so a lot of my students are close in age to me and I think the bond and level of comfort they have with me is always so different from other instructors in college. I have a few that have followed me now on social media after they’ve graduated and still stay in contact. That’s my favorite part about teaching, the short term learning is fun, but it’s the long term growth i get to see from them too!

I love teaching because to me every child deserves to have someone who cares. Each day brings new questions, new ideas, and the excitement of learning through fresh eyes. It is also profoundly important, as it lays the foundation for their future—academically, socially, and emotionally. By teaching children, we help shape not only their knowledge and skills but also their confidence, character, and ability to think critically, all of which are essential for becoming thoughtful, responsible adults.
Coming from a bicultural home. I had many culture shocks and struggled at times but it was great teachers, and support staff that made a difference in my school life. That’s why I am happy to be that teacher for a student ( or multiple). Teaching is not always easy but I love it.

I love teaching because I love being a difference maker! I love how excited and proud they get when they learn something new. I truly feel like they’re one of my own kids.

I’m currently a kindergarten special education teacher. Helping them grow and reach their goals has been a tough but rewarding challenge. My favorite memory is when I did ring around the Rosie with several students. Students who normally don’t interact with others were signaling their classmates to keep playing.

Im also a cooking and art instructor for mixed ages 3-15. As cute as it is to cook with the littles, it’s the best feeling to see the older kids go from not interested to begging to participate!

I have a deep love for teaching, especially in Special Education. It brings me so much joy to celebrate every achievement in the classroom—no matter how big or small. I make sure my students know they are capable of anything they set their minds to.

What I cherish most about teaching are the strong relationships I build with my students and their families. Each year, some of my students and I take part in Night to Shine, a prom night event for individuals with disabilities. It’s an incredible evening filled with smiles, dancing, and unforgettable memories. We celebrate each student and their uniqueness—and we truly dance the night away.

I’d pick my mom, she’s the hardest working woman I know, she actually worked at our elementary school and she gave me my first detention – long story but all the other teachers said I was fine but nope that woman had to give me one. Jokes on her though because I ended up realizing detention is nothing lol all of my friends STILL bring up how much they liked her (she had candy a lot) but my mom raised five kids and we all were college level reading by 4th grade. It made me realize when I got older how important reading is especially donating books. But she’s the best teacher and mom. Always has been lol

… the kids. I teach high school history, coach 2 seasons of varsity cheerleading, and do home instruction tutoring amongst other activities, so picking one memory for me would be impossible. However, just last week my cheerleaders attended the Future Educators of America “Week of the Young Child” event, where they taught them a cheer on being community helpers. I love teaching because there is never a dull moment. Everyday is different, the kids always have the “tea” on what’s going on around campus. They keep me on my toes, every single day feels like an adventure, they also appreciate the little things I do. Especially when they win prizes like jolly ranchers for getting their answers correct or a sticker. Students know when you do things from your heart. My job is so rewarding, because more than teaching, I help students see what the other side of an issue and sometimes, all the kids need is for someone to listen to their stories to feel heard and seen. These are some of the many reasons why I love teaching. I feel blessed to be able to do what I do, everyday.

I love teaching because it gives my life purpose. As a Filipino international teacher in my very first school year here in the U.S., I’ve faced more challenges than I ever imagined—adjusting to a new culture, being far from family, learning new systems, and finding my place in a world so different from home. There were moments I felt overwhelmed, even lost. But every time I see a child’s eyes light up with understanding or hear a student say, “Thank you for believing in me,” I’m reminded why I chose this path.

I may be thousands of miles away from my homeland, but teaching makes me feel at home. It connects me to something greater than myself: the future, the community, and the dream of building a better world through every student I teach.

I love teaching because i am able to help children and families grow every single day. I have been teaching at a daycare center for 2 years, I’ve worked with ages 6weeks- 12years old. My favorite memory is showing up for senior parent night for a football player whose parent did not support his football career. He was a star football player at our school on varsity all 4 years of high school. His parent did not show up to a single game all 4 years. I was his “mom” at school and showed up for him at the games and anything he needed me too. So for his senior night he asked me to escort him on the field. Moments like this are why I love my job, truly making a difference in my students lives mean everything to me!

I love teaching because it gives me a chance to help little people grow. Not just helping them educationally, but helping find their voice, their passion, likes/dislikes, etc. Then years later, seeing them flourish into amazing teenagers and hopefully one day outstanding citizens.

A fond memory that I have was during my first year teaching. My students (with the help of their parents and my coworkers) threw me a baby shower when I was pregnant with my first child. I will never forget the outpour of love they had for me and I have for them. They will forever hold a special place in my heart!

I love teaching because, as a child of immigrants, my teachers helped me understand American culture and gave me the confidence to help my own family learn this new culture. Their impact inspired me to become a teacher and give back in the same way. Now, I teach English to Spanish speakers and Spanish to English speakers, helping students bridge both languages and cultures. A memory I have with my students is taking them to Disneyland for a field trip! Some students may never have that experience again in their life, so I am happy to have been able to see the magic in their eyes because of how happy they were that day. I love teaching because I get to empower students to think outside the box. Education can be a tool used to connect with students in ways that leaves a foundation footprint for the rest of their lives.
